SDG recently collaborated with Clogher Valley Golf Club to supply acoustic solutions for their clubhouse. The project focused on refurbishing Arthur’s Attic, a function room situated above Rusks Restaurant.
The primary objective was to ensure acoustic separation between these two spaces to eliminate unwanted airborne and impact noise, allowing diners to enjoy their meals without disturbance from functions happening above.
The main challenge of this project was to achieve effective acoustic separation between Arthur’s Attic and Rusks Restaurant.
The goal was to mitigate both airborne and impact noise, ensuring that the restaurant’s patrons could dine in a quiet environment even when events were taking place in the function room above.
To address the challenge, SDG supplied the Isocheck Impact Mat 200 acoustic flooring system. This product is specifically designed for high levels of impact sound reduction through timber floors and staircases.
The Isocheck Impact Mat 200 consists of an 8mm Isofiba/barrier mat composite, which can be used as a single or double layer.

The refurbishment of Arthur’s Attic, with the installation of the Isocheck Impact Mat 200, successfully achieved the desired acoustic separation between the function room and Rusks Restaurant.
As a result, patrons dining in Rusks Restaurant can now enjoy their meals in a peaceful and quiet environment, even when functions are being held upstairs.
