PROJECT SUMMARY
This project made history as it is the first time a government department has relocated its headquarters to a rural area in Northern Ireland.
The three-storey office accommodation has been designed to be environmentally friendly and is set to target the BREEAM rating of “Excellent”.
THE CHALLENGE
SDG Construction Technology acoustic experience was called upon with the supply of Décor Slat Acoustic Panels.
The new 5175m² head office is a unique & simple, geometrical build, which respects and complements the character of the rural setting.
OUR SOLUTION
Based on this requirement Décor Slat Acoustic Panels were used to serve two purposes, to improve the acoustic comfort of the building and to compliment the rural and natural feel of the environment which surrounds it.
The Décor Slat Acoustic Panelsystem is a cost-effective, highly aesthetic fire rated solution allowing timber panels to be used in office and public spaces. With the Décor Slat panel slat systems, designers can create a dynamic, elegant and striking space utilising the look of timber battens.
THE RESULTS
Décor Slat panelised slat systems are available in a standard 2400 x 1200mm panel or can be sized to suit project requirements. Designers can choose from standard slat range or customise the size of the face slats and the spacing in-between to create a bespoke look.
Depending on the desired result, finishes can be specified from a large range of real timber veneers or an extensive colour range for an eye-catching paint-finish.As the Décor slat panels are supplied pre-finished, the need for onsite construction and painting is eliminated. The panel system ensures fast installation and lower onsite costs.
