PROJECT
Having worked with SDG previously, The Martin Group chose to partner with us again. We worked closely with our manufacturer partner Isomass to provide bespoke CAD drawings for the project alongside their expert advice. Our design was fully indemnified, and guaranteed to meet the requirements set out in Approved Document E.
The Martin Group contacted SDG requesting expert assistance with the acoustic design for this redevelopment of a former textile factory in Derry. As this project involved the conversion of existing commercial premises into habitable space, a sound acoustic detail was needed to isolate the various floors.
OUR SOLUTION
We opted to use innovative composite materials to meet this need. In addition to this conversion requirement, the new extension required a different material designed specifically for new build constructions.
Isocheck Impact Mat 100 was used for the existing factory section of the building, its innovative composite makeup provided high levels of impact sound reduction through the timber floors.
Isocheck Screedcheck XL9 was used for the acoustic isolation of the new extension. This isolates the screed from the structural sub floor, and provides sufficient impact absorption to place it amongst the top performing low density systems available.
Isocheck Impact Mat 100 include: Supplied in sheets for ease of application with minimal wastage. Airborne noise reduction was significantly enhanced, in addition to impact noise reduction.
