Acoustic Plaster Ceilings
SDG supplied acoustic plaster ceiling and wall solutions for the landmark TU Dublin Academic Hub & Library. The building spans 19,000m² and includes a range of student services, administrative offices, and Ireland’s first co-located academic library.
With a focus on acoustic performance and modern finishes, Vogl Toptec® was chosen due to its ‘Class A’ sound classification and monolithic textured finish.
The sub-contractor faced two primary issues: strict acoustic requirements to cater for the library, quiet study areas and large open-plan learning spaces.
The client required a flawless finish that blended modern design with heritage elements of the site’s 19th-century North House. SDG was able to respond quickly with a complete solution that included fast delivery, technical guidance, and on-site advisory—ensuring no installation delays and full compliance with acoustic specifications.
