Adman Civil Projects were appointed to deliver the refurbishment of 12 turbine bases at, one of the largest wind parks in Northern Ireland.
Originally constructed in 2010-2011, the bases required structural upgrades to extend their operational life and maintain compliance with modern standards
Refurbishing wind turbine foundations after more than a decade in service presents complex engineering challenges. Each base required multiple new concrete pours to strengthen and rebuild the existing structures.
To ensure long-term stability, Adman Civil Projects needed to create a mechanically interlocked key between each successive pour
Achieving consistent results across all 12 bases required a system that was quick to install, adaptable on-site, and compliant with European standards.
SDG supplied Link Fix profiled rib lath stopend panels — a proven system for forming construction joints between separate pours of concrete.
The Link Fix panels were erected vertically at the stop end of each pour, providing a rigid and profiled surface for the next pour of concrete to bond against. The distinctive ribbed pattern created a mechanical key between concrete stages, ensuring a monolithic structure once cured.
The use of Link Fix panels enabled Adman Civil Projects to achieve accurate, interlocking concrete joints. The panels provided stability during pouring and produced clean, durable construction joints with no deformation or leakage during placement.
The system proved particularly effective in maintaining pour sequence continuity and ensuring the strength and integrity of the refurbished foundations.
Adman Civil Projects were very pleased with the system’s performance, noting its efficiency and straightforward installation process.
