Spherical bearings are made of a steel, hard chrome plated spherical segment, the so-called calotte (convex),
a corresponding, with PTFE equipped calotte receiver (concave) and a sliding unit on the plane side of the
calotte, consisting of embedded PTFE and austenitic steel grade 1.4404. This design is capable to take horizontal
displacements as well as rotation through two independent sliding motions. This fulfils the requirement, that the
support of a structure should result in limited restrains particularly well. With additional guides or a stop ring it is
furthermore possible to transfer horizontal loads.
